Hockey tips

Hockey tips may address the different positions and equipment of hockey as well as techniques for shooting, skating, coaching, and joining a team. In addition to all these facets within a sport category, there are several variants of the sport. Ice hockey and inline hockey are the more popular styles in North America.

Ice Hockey Tips:
•Taking shots with the head up will increase the accuracy of a shot.
•Team practice should be oriented toward addressing particular weaknesses. With a child’s team, however, it is just as important to highlight particular skills. In short, working on the negatives can improve technique, while remembering the positives improves morale.
•Every goalie should have a catch glove, blocker, helmet and leg pads.

Inline Hockey Tips:
•Extra padding is wise for this style of play because there often are no walls surrounding the play area. Players falling out of bounds will find themselves landing on pavement.
•Those making the transition from ice hockey to roller hockey would do well to remember that there is a stopper located at the back of the skate.
•Along with utilizing skates for drag stops, a player can stop movement with the help of the stick.
