Hockey skates

Hockey skates will vary depending on which style of hockey is being played. Inline skates have four wheels, while ice hockey skates have blades. For both variations of the sport, the majority of players will agree that skates are the most important type of equipment that is purchased for hockey.

It is important that the right style of hockey skates be selected to match a player’s style. For instance, an ice hockey defenseman will need a longer blade radius for stability while a forward would need a shorter radius for maneuverability. In the same way, inline skates with smaller wheels are better for turning ability. Larger wheels allow an inline skater to have more speed.

Owning the right size of hockey skates is also crucial. The skate must be tight enough to provide stability. Too loose of a skate can damage the foot or ankle. At the same time, a skate that is too tight can cause discomfort and soreness.
